First Lady’s Tea rescheduled for June 23

Join the Dearborn Community Arts Council for the First Lady’s Tea honoring Dearborn’s First Lady, Christina O’Reilly, while celebrating culture, creativity and the Art of Tea.

The First Lady's Tea is scheduled for Sunday, June 23 at 1 p.m. at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course Clubhouse. The event was rescheduled from its original date due to flooding at Dearborn Hills.

Dearborn Hills is located at 1300 S. Telegraph Road in Dearborn.

This elegant fundraiser and traditional luncheon tea offers a fun filled afternoon in a refined atmosphere of beauty and luxury and is highly anticipated every year by many in the community who enjoy the “Art of Tea."

The event includes an assortment of fine teas and foods, as well as a presentation by newly appointed Arab American National Museum Director, Dr. Diana Abouali.  Ms. O’Reilly invited Dr. Abouali to speak because of the deep educational background and wide range of significant international educational leadership experience she brings to the role of directing the AANM in telling the story of Arab Americans.

The highly anticipated First Lady’s Tea fundraiser and luncheon offers an assortment of fine teas and foods, scones and assorted desserts. Guests also enjoy the Silent Auction and opportunities to win Teatime Treasure raffle prizes. Another highlight is strolling and viewing the individually decorated tea tables, each with a different theme.

As a special addition to this year’s tea, the Dearborn Historical Museum will display information about influential women in the City’s history in celebration of Dearborn’s 90th birthday.

Proceeds from the First Lady’s Tea benefit the Dearborn Community Arts Council, which operates the Padzieski Gallery and promotes the arts and arts organizations in the Dearborn area, as well as offers a variety of community arts programs.

The 2019 First Lady's Tea is presented thanks to the support of signature sponsor Maram Alaiwat, Partner, New York Life Greater Detroit, and other generous donors.
