The Dearborn Community Arts Council is once again hosting the annual First Lady’s Tea honoring Dearborn’s First Lady, Christina O’Reilly on Saturday, April 30 at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course Clubhouse at 1 p.m.
Dearborn Hills is located at 1300 South Telegraph Road in Dearborn.
This elegant fundraiser and traditional Luncheon Tea offers a fun filled afternoon in a refined atmosphere of beauty and luxury and is highly anticipated every year by many in the community who enjoy the “Art of Tea”.
As in years past, tables are artistically decorated by arts supporters, prominent community members and cultural and business organizations. The afternoon begins with mimosas and an opportunity to stroll the clubhouse, taking in the wide array of creatively decorated tables, all while being serenaded by beautiful, live music.
The luncheon features an assortment of fine teas complimented by a tasty Michigan salad, delicious assorted tea sandwiches, scones and muffins, as well as a buffet of tempting desserts. In addition to the door prizes, each guest also receives a special gift bag, a chance to win amazing gift items and gift packages including original art, and to shop the Teatime Treasures Auction and Raffle.
Another highlight of the event is a personal message of empowerment courtesy of a distinguished Keynote Speaker, still to be announced.
Proceeds from the First Lady’s Tea go towards programs and activities benefiting the DCAC and its many partnering arts groups, as well as activities of Dearborn Senior Services. Information provided below on tables now available for decorating tables or single tickets.

This year’s Distinguished Speaker has been announced as Ms. Cindy Olsen, Director of Material Culture of the Historic Ford Estates. Ms. Olsen will discuss her roles as Curator and Director at The Ford Estates, the importance of historical legacies and the challenges of not only keeping history alive but creating new ways to celebrate history. One such creative event is the current exhibition “Women Who Motor” at The Edsel & Eleanor Ford House through June 15.
The First Lady’s Tea offers a fun filled afternoon High Tea Luncheon which begins with accomplished classical and flamenco guitarist Steve Jarosz creating the perfect atmosphere to enjoy the wide range of creative table settings. Area philanthropic, business and creative communities all gather to share their artistically decorated tea tables while enjoying signature champagne and orange juice mimosas. There will also be door prizes, gift bags and special raffles for “Teatime Treasures.”
This traditional High Tea, as popularized recently by the hit PBS show “Downton Abbey”, has been a staple of Dearborn and surrounding communities’ seasonal Spring activities for many years and features an assortment of premium fine teas complimented by a Michigan-style salad, scones, croissants and muffins, a delicious array of assorted tea sandwiches, and a tropical fruit platter, all followed by a buffet of tempting gourmet desserts.

Spring is here! It is time to make your reservation for the annual First Lady’s Tea honoring Dearborn’s First Lady, Christina O’Reilly on Saturday, April 26, from 1-4 p.m. at the Dearborn Hills Golf Course Clubhouse.
This traditional sell-out event will once again be the must-attend afternoon everyone looks forward to. Tables will be artistically set by prominent members of the community for the high tea luncheon. Mimosas and live music will greet everyone as they arrive to enthusiastically view the wide array of distinctly unusual table settings and to shop the Teatimes Treasures auction.
The high tea luncheon will feature an assortment of fine teas complimented by a gourmet soup, Michigan salad, a selection of tea sandwiches, scones and muffins, fresh fruit and a buffet of tempting mini desserts to choose from.
As in past years, an accomplished woman will highlight the afternoon as the distinguished speaker.
This wonderful tradition is an excellent opportunity to show that special lady in your life that you want to spend time with her and to share a unique afternoon together.
