Congratulations, 2014 Mayor’s Arts Awards honorees!

The Dearborn Community Arts Council and arts community honored the 2014 Mayor's Arts Awards winners Feb. 11, 2015 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. It was an evening of laughter, live entertainment and remembrance of another fantastic year for the Dearborn arts community.

"The arts remind us of our power to innovate," said Master of Ceremonies and Players Guild of Dearborn President Mike Moseley at the event. "Creativity is everywhere, and when it stops, so do we."

Thanks to people like these present and past Mayor's Arts Awards winners, creativity and arts in the Dearborn is alive and well.

Mayor’s Arts Awards will recognize 2014 honorees Feb. 11

Prysm_Hula2014 was another outstanding and productive year in the arts in the greater Dearborn community, as exemplified by both the caliber and the number of nominations submitted for the prestigious Mayor’s Arts Awards. The Dearborn Community Arts Council and the Mayor’s Office are proud to present the 27th Annual Mayor’s Arts Awards Ceremony to be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. in “Studio A” at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center.

The Center is located at 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn. Admission to the Mayor's Arts Awards is free and the public are welcome to come and celebrate with the honorees.

The Mayor’s Arts Awards Selection Committee announces and congratulates these individuals and organizations being honored for their work in the arts in 2014:

  • The 2014 Arts Patron Award: INSYTE, INC.
  • The 2014 Arts Educator Award: DR. GEORGE POPOVICH
  • The 2014 Volunteer Award: WENDY BALAKA
  • The 2014 Artist / Performer Award: JANET L. KONDZIELA
  • The 2014 Arts Organization Award: MEXICAN PATRIOTIC COMMITTEE
  • The 2014 Mayor's Award: WILLIAM K. BREHM
  • The 2014 DCAC Bravo Award:  BUNNIE SANDHU

These great friends to our community will be honored at the Awards Ceremony, recognizing their outstanding achievements and contributions for 2014. The DCAC looks forward to spotlighting these individuals and groups who have enriched our lives and our communities with their talent, as well as their dedication and support of the arts.

The evening’s festivities will be hosted by Mike Moseley of The Dearborn Players Guild and will include very special performances from Renaissance Voices under the direction of G. Kevin Dewey, young, up and coming vocalist, Jade Reynolds, and Prysm Tap Club, directed by Janeen Bodary.

The Awards Ceremony will be followed by an open reception across the hall at the Padzieski Art Gallery.
