Nominations open for the 31st annual Mayor’s Arts Awards

Do you know someone special who deserves to be recognized for all they do for the arts in Dearborn and its surrounding communities?

The City of Dearborn Office of the Mayor, Dearborn Community Arts Council and Dearborn Community Fund invite you to help honor the artists and members of the arts community of 2018 as they announce the 31st annual Mayor’s Arts Awards. This special event offers an opportunity to look back in appreciation of the artists, arts educators, arts volunteers and arts supporters who keep the arts strong and exciting throughout Dearborn.

Art often makes an impression beyond words, but the DCAC understands the importance of acknowledging those who make art in all its forms, as well as our community’s many generous supporters of the arts. Their profound impact improves lives as well as the lives of our neighborhoods and cities.

The public is welcomed to participate in the nominating process by submitting nominations and accompanying materials by the deadline date of March 1, 2019.

The award categories for 2019 are:

  • Artist Performer Award
  • Arts Organization Award
  • Arts Patron Award
  • Arts Educator Award
  • Volunteer Award

Last year was another productive and creative year and the public is once again invited to take an active role in selecting those who have enriched our lives and our communities with their talent and dedication to the arts the Dearborn area community.

The Awards Ceremony is presented at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, in “Studio A” located in the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center at 15801 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn.
